Leicester City in the Community Partners Consortium — June 2026
Representing Bangali Go CIC
I had the opportunity to represent Bangali Go CIC at the Leicester City in the Community partners consortium meeting as part of the Active Women Programme. I’m grateful to Bangali Go's founder for inviting me to represent the organisation and contribute to discussions around the sustainability and future impact of the programme. The session brought together partners including The Centre for Ethnic Health Research, Active Leicester, Women 4 Change, Active Together, and other community organisations to reflect on programme impact and discuss sustainability planning for the future.
I presented an overview of Bangali Go’s journey, vision, and the role of the Active Women Programme in supporting increased participation in physical activity among Bangladeshi women and local communities. Alongside the community perspective, I also contributed from a data science and analytics perspective, supporting the analysis and interpretation of survey data collected through the programme. This work involved exploring patterns across demographic information, health-related factors, and physical activity engagement to help better understand participation, identify insights, and support evidence-informed decision making.
A key takeaway from the discussion was the importance of combining community knowledge with data-driven approaches to design sustainable and inclusive health initiatives. It was a valuable opportunity to contribute to conversations around community wellbeing, women’s health, and how data can support long-term impact.
